Purchasing Agent
Applications are now being accepted for the position of Purchasing Agent
FUNCTION: Procurement of supplies, equipment and services ensuring compliance with Board Purchasing Policies and state law.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares, advertises, opens, and tabulating formal sealed bids for a governmental entity. Maintains bidders/vendors list, adds new vendors and obtains 1099 information, sends tax-exempt and credit information. Meets with vendors and address problems as needed. Obtains quotes for warehouse stock as well as for departmental needs. Reviews requisitions for accuracy, approvals, legal and policy adherence and funds availability. Places orders and negotiates terms. Enters, prints and distributes purchase orders and does change orders as required. Administer Procurement Card Program. Maintains Purchasing Manual for Utility. The primary responsibilities only include essential functions of the job and does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 1. High school diploma: some advanced education preferred 2. Two years’ experience in government procurement required 3. Certification in governmental purchasing required or obtain within first 12-18 months employment
PHYSICAL EFFORT: 1. Up to 50 pounds manually Salary Range DOQ plus benefits Full-time Employment
