Applications are now being accepted for the position of:  Electric ROW Groundman FUNCTION:  Works on the ground performing the manual labor necessary to build, maintain, troubleshoot, and clear/ trim R.O.W. for GEUS overhead and underground transmission, distribution, secondary, and service facilities.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:   1 Performs duties under direct supervision. 2 Learn, understand, and follow all GEUS safety rules and policies. 3 Work safely at all times to protect self, other crew, public, GEUS property and equipment, and personal and public property from injury or damage. 4 Participate in job briefings (tailboard discussions) for each job as described in the GEUS Safety Manual. 5 Attend and participate in safety and training meetings. 6 Subject to on-call duty and emergency response after normal working hours. 7 Safely operate a chainsaw to cut, trim, and buck trees and brush. 8 Drag brush from R.O.W. and safely chip brush using brush chipper. 9 Observe and assist Linemen and tree trimmers working aloft. 10 Learn to anticipate tools and materials needed by Linemen and tree trimmers. 11 Learn names of tools and materials of the trade and their applications. 12 Load and unload material for the job. 13 Clean up the work area. 14 Learn to safely operate and properly maintain machinery and equipment. 15 Begin training to learn to climb trees and/or poles and begin to learn how to trim trees from a aerial lift device.   The primary responsibilities only include essential functions of the job and does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.  Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management.  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 1 Class C Operators license.  Will obtain Class A CDL 2 High school diploma or equivalent.        PHYSICAL EFFORT: 1 Able to lift a 10’ crossarm, weighing 88 pounds from floor to chest height; return crossarm safely to floor. 2 Safely generate push and pull forces of 65 pounds. 3 Ascend and descend a 5-rung ladder 20 times, without exceeding 85% of Maximum Permissible Heart Rate (Karvonen formula). 4 Lift and carry 88 pounds. Pay Rate:  Starting $19.01/hr. Plus Benefits.                                       Full-Time Employment
