FUNCTION: Assists residential and commercial customers with new and existing Internet installs, transfers, disconnects, and service calls
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Complete assigned work in the scheduled time frame (i.e. installs, disconnects, and service calls 2 Required to work in an on call rotation 3 Required to turn in on a daily basis ALL customer’s information (i.e. work orders and install quote sheets) 4 Required to work in all elements of weather. Must be able to lift or move objects greater than 50 pounds and must be able to work aloft 5 Required to train in all areas of Internet operations 6 Makes day-to-day decisions regarding customer Internet services 7 Multi-tasking, ability to work under stress, and ability to get along with other employees 8 Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions 9 Accepts additional responsibilities as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned to maintain Internet operations and services 10 Must follow the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE guidelines as specified in the GEUS Safety Manual (i.e. boots, hardhats, gloves, safety glasses, body harnesses, and clothes) The primary responsibilities only include essential functions of the job and does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 1 High school diploma or equivalent 2 Actively engaged or willingness to engage in a program, formal or informal, to learn the skills necessary to become self-sufficient 3 Some proficiency in most, but not all, of the tools and equipment appropriate to the job 4 Appropriate license to drive a pickup truck or similar vehicle 5 A minimum of 1-3 years performing in related areas of responsibility is preferred
PHYSICAL EFFORT: 1 Work is often performed in awkward of uncomfortable positions involving stooping, climbing, pulling, bending, reaching, and the handling of tools or materials of sufficient weight to cause additional physical stress. Must be able to lift or move objects greater than 50 pounds and must be able to work aloft. 2 Work is divided between inside and outside. The employee is required to work outside in inclement weather when necessary to restore service to the customer. Work involves contact with low voltage (90vac or less) and climbing of utility poles when necessary during the performance of daily duties.
Pay Rate: DOQ plus
